The introduction of the smart phone brought a new era of productivity for businesses both large and small. The software coupled with innovations in cellular hardware allow for business users to interact with each other within the organization and externally with the world. The technology was birthed when Research in Motion (RIM) developed it first Two-way pager, Palm was also instrumental in developing a device on which many future smart phones would be based. From there the technology has grown and adapted to an increasingly complex wireless worlds. These devices now sync easier with the computer to allow users to bring work with them on the go and to store data with them giving them access to their work anywhere they go. One would be hard-pressed to find a company in that does not incorporate some sort of smart phone technology in their organization.
Development in smart phone technologies have improved to allow wireless roaming on a broad variety of networks including 1x EVDO, HSDPA, Edge, North American, European/Asian

GSM bands, and Dual Band CDMA[[#_ftn1|[1]]]. The seamless roaming across the globe has allowed the international executive to traverse the globe without having any blackout zones. Advanced email support gives end users the ability to access their accounts through two email protocols, Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) AND Post Office Protocol (POP3). These two types allow users to choose between Push and Pull email allowing them to control their data usage. Recent advancements have also allowed for the introduction of exchange email support allowing users to access their Gmail, Mobile Me, and Hotmail accounts on their smart phones.

Other developments have allowed for the ability to edit and view Microsoft office documents and well as PDF files. Better web browsing applications are continually being released to enhance the experience of browsing the web on pocket device. A recent shift in smart phone technology has seen the rise of the touch screen smart phone. This transformation allows programmers to design and implement revolutionary ways of interacting with the device and its software. The last major change is the idea of cloud computing, with the Iphone and soon to be released Palm Pre taking the lead of storing information and exchanging data with the corporate database, your personal computer and phone.
Major competition exists within this market both from a hardware and software standpoint. On the software end you have Windows Mobile, Blackberry OS, OSX Mobile, Google’s Android, Symbian, and yet to be released Palm’s Web OS. Hardware wise almost every phone manufacture has some sort of smart phone on the market available on both GSM and CDMA technologies. At the moment the big three are Blackberry, Apples’ Iphone, and Windows Mobile. Each of these technologies has their strengths and weaknesses giving users access to a wide variety of services and applications.

Millions have been spent on the ongoing research and development in each of these technologies. The introduction of user created applications and the open sourcing of some software has allowed developers even from outside the company to change or modify the device as they see fit. It has also birthed a new industry of mobile applications. The goal of all of this is to improve the productivity and the level of work that can be done on these devices by end users.

Your group has five members, so please keep in mind that there is additional work required for groups of 5. Please see our portal or prof. evans email jan 15, for instructions and what is required for the rest of the submissions.

very good intro, you just missed to say when the tech was birthed. this would give the reader an idea of how old the tech. is.
Point b) what was the rational? what was the reasoning behind the development of this technology?
Point d) good detailing of the competition, but limited details about the key players that coontributed to the introduction and diffusion of the technology (i.e. what was their contribution?). Also, is this technology going to displace anothersystem if yes, which one and how.
Point f) tactics help build strategies i.e. short and long term plans which, in turn, ensure the achievement of objectives and goals. State the goals and objectives, then discuss the tactics adopted by the organization, explain how the tactics help build strategies, and how the strategies will ensure the achievement of the goals and objectives.

You have some punctuation/grammar errors that can be corrected by proff reading thoroughly. Also, please keep in mind the formatting fuidelines. Please make sure you have enough sources and most importantly scholoarly sources to backup your analysis and arguments with.
